Hey Guys! Here is a peak into my summer meal plan on Google Docs. Please check out my spring meal plan here.
I was so excited when I created this meal plan. There is just something about the summer that makes me think about grilling, seafood, and lots of juicy crisp fruit 'n' veg. It's like my body wants to go on a diet! And then from a fantastic set of events Prince Charming has volunteered to take over the cooking for at least June. So now I am even more excited about this menu. I used the same method as outlined in my last menu planning post, but I did change up a few of the categories, to better reflect the season and my food goals. I am still working on making quite a bit of my bread from scratch, which is going pretty well. But we are certainly not becoming independent of the bakery, as I am still learning some recipes. Please check out Mennonite Girls Can Cook for some fantastic bread recipes.
Here is a fantastic recipe for Megadarra, which has been in both my Spring and Summer Recipes. It is really, really good, vegetarian, and super duper cheap! It is also tasty both hot and cold, so it makes really great leftovers.

Goal 51: Cookbook Management (make 5 recipes from each cookbook or discard)
Can I make a confession? I own 56 recipe books, 3 years worth of subscriptions and special issue Canadian Living magazines, as well as hundreds if not thousands of recipes stored on my computer, pinterest and recipe cards.

The Date Night Jar!
Hey Guys!
Today I want to share with you a really quick project I made that is proving to be so much fun! Many marriage guru's and just regular folk on the internet tout the wonders of date nights. But since Charming and I don't have kids every night is basically a date night. Which of course can get dull really fast.

Goal 69: Healthy Homemaking Step #1
I was really happy to get Stephanie Langford's e-book Healthy Homemaking a couple of years ago. Stephanie's website, Keeper of the Home, was a really welcome find when I first got into improving the nutrition in our diet. Stephanie lives somewhere near Vancouver, BC which is just a hop, skip and a jump from my old neighbourhood, which means that she faces many of the same food sourcing challenges that I do.
I think I have mentioned that I love lists. So when I can find an e-book that is essentially a list of steps one can take to be more healthy, frugal and environmentally friendly, with a bunch of information on how to do it, I'm sold. I have wanted to work through this book in an organized manner for a while, which is why it is in my goals, so here is what I am learning and have learned as I have read and re-read this book over the past year. Hopefully you can find some ideas that inspire you to!

Goal 94. Read 5 Christian Books
I love reading books. Peter Pan once said, as we walked out of a library, "I love libraries because it means that anyone, for very little money, can learn anything." He is completely right. I love reading books which is why in my goals I have at least 26 books to read plus half the Bible! I have finished reading 5 christian books and want to share with you the good and the bad.
